Most of the hype over the last few weeks, in relation to Barcelona, has been about the future of Luis Suarez.
Despite his antics at The World Cup Barcelona fans cannot help but get really excited about this one.
Because players of his quality do not come along on a regular basis.
With that one arguably now looking inevitable, Barcelona will next concentrate on shoring up a slightly dodgy defence.
And surely one of the best possible players that they could buy for this role is Borussia Dortmund centre back Mats Hummels.
Spanish newspaper Sport.es today reports that Barcelona are in a battle to signing the player along with an English giant.
Barca and United are battling for Mats Hummels.
In England they say Louis van Gaal wants Mats Hummels as his new centre back at United. Barca have also been interested.
Hummels would almost guarantee Barcelona a better defence next season. At the age of 25 he’s now a regular in the German national side and also scores a few goals to add to his all round defensive excellence.
He’s coming into his prime and will give Barcelona five years of absolutely top service.
With Germany still fighting it out in The World Cup don’t expect this one to be concluded any time soon. But we will keep you posted on any updates to the situation.
