Another inevitable transfer?

Not happy with the now almost customary trouncing of their neighbours on Tuesday, Manchester City have got down to it in the transfer market again.

This time for another Arsenal star, Bacary Sagna, who is looking increasingly likely to leave The Emirates at the end of the season.

The Guardian reported this afternoon:

Bacary Sagna has been offered a three-year deal by Manchester City and he will consider whether to become the latest Arsenal player to move between the clubs in the summer. The 31-year-old full-back remains locked in contractual stand-off with Arsenal, his club since 2007 and his current terms are set to expire in June, making him a free agent.

At 31 Sagna is at the top of his game. He’s as solid a defender as ever but, if anything, his final ball has improved over the last few years. He’s now one of the best crossers in the league and would be particularly valuable for a City team who love their full backs to push on.

Sagna is a French international of vast experience. Having played over 100 times for Auxerre he moved to Arsneal in 2007 and has excelled at right back, becoming the Mr.Reliable of the side. He’s turned out a substantial 39 times for France and has every reason to expect to be on the plane to Brazil this summer.

With Manchester City having so much wealth and a apparent penchant for players schooled at Arsenal, you feel that it’s almost inevitable that Sagna will get his last big pay day in The North West.

Let’s have a look at the man in action.
