Manchester City ready for another transfer spree – report

Worldies

Love him or hate him, there are few if any players who can do what Yaya Toure did to break the deadlock against Aston Villa on Saturday.

The best angle of the move came from behind the goal where you can see 7 players between Toure and the net. But such is the quality of the lad that he just scythed through the entire defence with a rapier shift of the ball and fantastic strike with his left foot.

While some Manchester City fans doubt Toure, virtually every other team in the league would want him. And City’s performance reminded us that, when they are on song, few can live with them. Even Chelsea will be sweating now.

But their ambition seemingly has no bounds as they have been linked to a Toure replacement plus another worldie in latest reports.

The Daily Mail writes:

Manchester City to consider Yaya Toure’s future in January and could line up Paul Pogba or Cheick Tiote to replace the Ivorian

Tiote? Decent but not in the same ball park. As for Pogba, he clearly has a great future ahead of him and is more in the mould of Toure. He would be an able replacement if not ever quite as good.

The same source reports:

Marco Reus being tracked by Manchester City after he refuses to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund

Worldie alert. If Navas is struggling to make the starting line up right now, Reus would surely have few problems making his mark. He’s a wonderfully two footed and penetrative player and if Manchester City get him they might find themselves in a league of one.

Let’s see Reus in action. Manchester City fans: do you need to replace Toure right now?
