Arsenal: World class target available for €36m – report

Any Arsenal move for Mario Balotelli has reportedly been given a huge boost. AC Milan have agreed that the superstar can leave the Italian club for a fee of £29 million (36m Euros) according to The Metro.

The Gunners have been continuously linked with Balotelli over the past few weeks, leading to much speculation that a deal is close. With the news that the Italian club is willing to allow the player to leave Arsenal are likely to step up their interest.

Puma, Arsenal’s new kit sponsor, have apparently also pledged to partially fund the transfer. They already have endorsement deals with Balotelli and would love to see him at The Emirates according to The Express.

Arsenal have world class players in positions all over the pitch with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil. However, one position where they are currently lacking is in the striker department. Since the departure of Robin van Persie to Manchester United, they have had to rely on front man Oliver Giroud.

While the Frenchman has had a much improved second season he is still far from the best forward in The Premier League, lacking in a number of technical areas. The attacking line of the North London club was widely pinpointed as a weakness, especially after the injuries to Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Despite being a controversial figure, the Italian’s skill and technical ability cannot be called into question. He has scored 88 goals in all competitions for AC Milan, Manchester City and Inter Milan as well as 13 goals in 31 international caps.

He would undoubtedly add quality to the Arsenal side and possibly be exactly the type of player they need to compete with the other big clubs throughout the entire season.
