Chelsea are confident of signing Gabriel Barbosa after the player revealed he is interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
That’s according to the Mirror, who claim the player, nicknamed ‘Gabigol’, is keen on linking up with new Blues boss Antonio Conte in a £25million deal.
Barbosa’s name has been mainly mentioned in Arsenal circles this summer, with Arsene Wenger considering bringing in the promising 19-year-old.
However, his price tag is something of an issue. While money may be no object to Chelsea, the Gunners are understandably reluctant to spend £25million on a striker who is not yet proven in the Premier League.
Juventus have already confirmed their interest in signing the player, who has already drawn comparisons with Neymar.
Chelsea have so far signed Michy Batshuayi, but they are hoping to bolster their attack even further.
Conte has now undertaken his first training session with his new players, meeting senior figures including John Terry and Jon Obi-Mikel.
It’s no wonder Barbosa wants to be a part of Conte’s plans, as the Italian is expected to transform Chelsea next season.
Arsenal may have finished higher than their London rivals in 2015/2016, but it’s the West Londoners who are tempting Barbosa.
