Manchester United have almost taken signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic for granted.
However, according to the Guardian, Bayern Munich could be about to swipe the Swedish maverick from under Jose Mourinho’s nose.
‘Ibra’, who is leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, is still expected by many sources to move to Old Trafford, but he is going to have to choose between two familiar managers.
While the forward is a known admirer of Mourinho, having worked – and won the Champions League – with him at Inter Milan – Carlo Ancelotti, who managed him at PSG, is taking over at Bayern.
Ancelotti thinks he might just be able to tempt him, and Bayern are in need of a new striker who can take on the responsibility of possibly replacing Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski’s links with Real Madrid persist, so it’s unsurprising that Munich are forming a plan of action in case they are forced to relent on their promise to keep the Poland star.
Ibrahimovic seems a shock replacement, but his agent has hinted that United is far from the only club interested and he may pull off a surprise, so Bayern shouldn’t give up hope just yet.
