Liverpool outcast Mario Balotelli has been ordered to return to the club for pre-season training.
The Italian misfit had been hoping to find another club but doesn’t seem to have had much luck, possibly on account of the fact he scored just once in Serie A last season, making just eight appearances.
The Sun report that the ex-Manchester City man has been unceremoniously warned by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp that he expects to see him at training on July 2.
Quite why Klopp is so keen on his return is questionable.
Liverpool would almost certainly sell the 25-year-old at the drop of a hat, but most clubs, including AC Milan where he spent last season, are being put off by his demands of £120,000 a week – which is about what Premier League hotshots Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford earn put together.
However difficult it may be for his ego, Balotelli may have to accept a pay cut and realise he is lucky to be at a club like Liverpool.
For since his early days at City, he has done little to prove he is worthy of his self-proclaimed stardom.
