Foxes star in Man United’s sights

N’GOLO KANTE has emerged as a major target for Manchester United as they look to revamp their squad ahead of next season.

It follows United director and former manager Sir Alex Ferguson stating: “Kante is by far the best player in the Premier League season.”

The Leicester midfielder has been a key player in the Foxes’ charge towards the title and was recently named in the PFA Team of the Year.

Kante, 25, was an £8million signing from Caen but his form with Leicester this term has seen his value soar to £30m.

The Daily Star reports: “Leicester have indicated they WILL sell the France international if he wants to leave – as long as they have a replacement lined up.

“United’s Brazilian midfielder Andreas Pereira, 20 is already a Leicester target and could be part of the deal.”

Kante, who has also been linked with Manchester City and Arsenal, would be a massive signing for the Red Devils who are in the market for young, defensive midfielders as Michael Carrick is 35 this summer and Germany ace Bastian Schweinsteiger turns 32.

They still have France star Morgan Schneiderlin but Kante’s tenacity and remarkable fitness will make him one of the most sought-after targets this off-season.

Should Kante join United?
