Liverpool keen on former Newcastle bad boy

Hatem

LIVERPOOL will attempt to lure Hatem Ben Arfa to Anfield in the summer.

Jurgen Klopp is ready to give the Frenchman another chance in the Premier League after his stint at Newcastle ended in disaster.

The winger also endured a torrid time on loan at Hull, making just eight appearances before being released from his Newcastle contract and leaving England.

Ben Arfa joined Ligue 1 side Nice last summer and has impressed back in his homeland, scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances, with his performances seeing him emerge as a genuine contender for France’s Euro 2016 squad.

However, Liverpool face a battle to secure the 29-year-old’s signature.

The Sun reports: “Liverpool face some real competition from Borussia Dortmund.

“The two Milan clubs, AC and Inter, have also taken notice of Ben Arfa’s form, but the Merseyside outfit ‘remain in pole position’ to bring him back to England.”

There’s no doubt Ben Arfa has the talent to succeed in the Premier League and with a club of Liverpool’s standing – the question remains does he have the right attitude?

With Klopp having moulded the Reds into a real team unit and one that has improved significantly since the German took charge, it would represent something of a risk to bring in someone like Ben Arfa who has not always shown himself to be the ultimate team man.

Liverpool fans, should Klopp make a move for Ben Arfa?
