Shocker

Latest news from The Guardian states with real confidence that Louis van Gaal offered his resignation in the aftermath of another performance against Southampton which broke the bottom of the barrel through over-scraping in recent times.

The part which beggars belief in this increasingly sorry tale is that Woodward is said to have tried to persuade the Dutchman to stay.

Louis van Gaal offered to resign as Manchester United manager on Saturday

• Ed Woodward talked him out of it after defeat by Southampton

Louis van Gaal has lost too many games for Manchester United.

He’s lost the fans.

The players look completely confused.

And the performances are worse than under David Moyes.

What is going on in Ed Woodward’s head?

At this point fans don’t really care whether it’s Giggs or Mourinho who takes the hotseat.

They just want change.

The Guardian also says of the Manchester United executive vice-chairman:

Woodward also wanted time to digest the defeat and assess the situation because he is keen to avoid having to appoint a manager in the middle of the season.

That’s understandable with players but why wait until the end of the season for a managerial change? Manchester United are sinking. They are not going to qualify for The Champions League at this stage. So surely a change is desperately needed now?

Even Louis can see it. So why can’t Woodward?

soccersweep says: Woodward is having an absolute shocker at Manchester United.

Van gal should go. How could he substitute a defender to bring in Januzaj insteading of removing Lingerd who was compeletly off field.
His tactics are not good for man utd, we need a new manager who can bring back the glory to old trafford.

Couldn’t agree more. The football geniuses running the club clearly see something in Lingard that we don’t.
