Barcelona keen on brilliant youngster according to respected football pundit

John-Stones

What a player

Barcelona are keen on the young England international John Stones, as they formulate their transfer plans after their recent ban was lifted, according to respected Spanish football expert Guilem Ballague.

He is quoted by Sky Sports, as saying:

I know Barcelona like John Stones a lot, but they haven’t yet decided where they are going to put their money this summer.

Stones already won huge respect for his consistently brilliant performances at Everton during his short career.

He moved from Barnsley to the Premier League side in 2013 and, there, he has represented his club on 76 occasions and scored one goal.

He was of course brought in to the club as a long-term prospect. But such were his performance levels from the outset that he is now a nailed-on starter at centre back whenever he is fit – no mean feat for a 21-year-old.

His form has also won him caps at international level. Stones now has 7 caps to his name for England since his debut in 2014 against Switzerland. And he is very much expected to be a stalwart in the England side for the next decade at least.

But, English players don’t tend to travel all that well and we have never seen one this young make a move to Barcelona or La Liga. With so many English clubs also reportedly keen, perhaps his next move will be to a team in England.

So Barcelona may have to wait a few years for this guy.

Let’s see him in action.
