If you asked me seriously, whether I would keep Louis van Gaal at Manchester United at this point or have a punt on the untried and untested Paul Scholes to manage the club, I would take The Ginger Prince in a heartbeat.
He seems to have been somewhat reserved in his criticism of Manchester United in recent weeks, perhaps mindful of the fact that he could be doing more harm than good and destabilising the squad further.
But he gave the Manchester United team both barrels after the dreadful, scrambled, 1-0 victory over Sheffield United on Saturday evening and we could not agree more wholeheartedly with his sentiments.
This is not just a bitter ex-player having a rant. There is always structure, proper tactical analysis and substance to what Scholes says.
He seems to imply that LvG is over complicating things. He uses the term ‘square pegs in round holes’ in relation to the use of Marouane Fellaini at the ball playing base of the midfield, Ander Herrera’s best position and Juan Mata being farmed out to the right wing.
And, foremost in his gripes, is the notion that it has become so boring to watch Manchester United this season.
