Liverpool have made a bid for Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia according to reports.

It hasn’t been plain sailing for Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in his formative months in charge and injuries must be chief amongst his current concerns.

The defence is threadbare and Sky Italia reports that he is wasting no time in finding reinforcemnts. They say (via Sky Sports England):

Liverpool have made an offer to Inter Milan for defender Andrea Ranocchia, according to Sky Sports in Italy.

The report states that Norwich are also keen but the player must fancy a move to the Anfield giants, given the choice.

The 27 year old, who stands at a whopping 6ft 5in, hasn’t been a regular in the Inter side this season (10 appearances) and may be able to provide much needed defensive cover for Liverpool this month.

He is a quality player who has made 20 appearances for the Italy national team since his debut in 2010.

The 27 year old centre back is decent with his feet, obviously brilliant in the air and would provide a really good quality option for Liverpool in troubled times.

We actually think that he is good enough to squeeze in ahead of the likes of Skrtel and Lovren in the pecking order and would form a good partnership with the pacy Sakho, when fit.

But you can make up your own mind about the player. Let’s see him in action.

Liverpool fans: a first-teamer when everyone is fit?
