4-3-3: An adventurous potential Liverpool XI vs Watford

Another tricky one

Fixture: Watford vs LIVERPOOL, The Barclays Premier League, Vicarage Road

Date: Sunday 20th December 2015, Kick Off 13:30 GMT

Injured: Jon Flanagan, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings

Doubtful: Mamadou Sakho, Daniel Sturridge, Dejan Lovren

Foreword: The persistent injury problems for Daniel Sturridge are highly frustrating for the fans – not least because every time he does play he looks like the nuts.

But, let’s spare a thought for the lad himself. Few experiences in life can beat the excitement of scoring a goal for Liverpool and Sturridge must be hurting more than anyone about his current malaise.

He could well make the squad for this one but needs to be handled with care. We would slowly strengthen his muscles and resolve by giving him a dozen cameo appearances before his next start – Liverpool have options in attack after all, with Coutinho and Benteke now back in the fray.

The 2-2 draw with WBA was disappointing all round but Jurgen Klopp drew positives from the result and, let’s not forget, this is still very much a work in progress.

But, with other top teams slipping regularly, a few wins on the bounce for Liverpool could jettison them into the top four. In that context, this is a must win game against the stubborn Hornets.

Prediction: It’s the craziest season in the history of The Premier League so predictions seem pointless. Oh well, here goes. Watford 1-2 Liverpool.

Team: Liverpool fans – let’s have yours
