With many a Liverpool fan still tingling from the demolition of Manchester City at the weekend it’s safe to assume that this team is riding the crest of a wave right now.
But this Liverpool team seems to have a renewed hunger under Jurgen Klopp and they will want to move on quickly and start to put a run together.
Of all the shining lights in the City game we were particularly impressed with Roberto Firmino.
He had a very quiet start to his time at Liverpool but Klopp has brought the player out of his shell immediately and he looked world class against City.
Perhaps Klopp has the advantage of coming from the same league as the Brazilian. Whatever, he’s pushed Firmino’s buttons and he looks like a top drawer talent again.
All in all there is a really special feeling in the air. And it’s much more than the temporary boost that any new manager brings to a club.
Klopp seems very much like the perfect fit for Liverpool who, we sense, are at the start of an amazing journey.
