In his very first month in The Premier League Manchester United’s new signing Anthony Martial has been named as Player of The Month for September.
Martial hit the ground running and immediately found a place in the hearts of the Manchester United faithful with a decisive goal against Liverpool on his debut.
He then hit a brilliant brace against Southampton which won United the game in a tricky encounter at St.Mary’s.
He also scored in The Capital One Cup to make it 4 in 7 appearances for the £36m man.
But his feats weren’t deemed enough to win him the Player of The Month award at Manchester United. That gong went to Juan Mata, who had a similarly impressive September, full of goals and assists.
Mata won the award by just two percent, with Martial in second place.

Martial can content himself with the fact that he also scooped the PFA Player of The Month award.
With a huge month ahead after the international break – including an away trip to Everton, a home derby against Manchester City, and a crucial double header in The Champions League against CSKA Moscow – Manchester United will be desperate for Martial to reproduce the goods again in the coming weeks.
And a return to form for Wayne Rooney wouldn’t go amiss either.
