He has a big influence in the canteen: More classic sound bites in Louis van Gaal’s latest press conference ahead of the game against Everton

Funny Guy

He rarely fails to entertain and amuse in his press conferences and Louis van Gaal has again spoken with great originality and quirkiness ahead of a massive clash against Everton at the weekend (Kick Off 15:00 local time, Saturday).

In his weekly briefing, Louis said that he is obviously disappointed about the result against Arsenal, when Manchester United were comfortably beaten 3-0.

“We cannot accept it. Not only my members of staff, but the also the players cannot accept it from each other.

“We want to be the champions, so we have to behave like the champions.

But he then went on to add a now typical LvGism by stating:

You have to improve everytime. It is no just the members of staff, it is also my cook Mike. He has a big influence in the canteen. A lot of people are important.”

Whether this is a way of deflecting the pressure off his players or a genuine sentiment, it just embellishes the style of the Manchester United manager.

He may not have been able to replicate the success of Sir Alex Ferguson so far in his time at Manchester United. But he is every bit as good value and controversial in his press conferences.

With Manchester United still just 2 points off the pace in The Premier League this is surely another must win game at the start of a hectic period of football in October, before another tedious international break at the start of November.

Here are those Manchester United fixtures in what will be a frenetic period.
