Manchester United: Another potential French creative addition admits to being ‘disappointed’ by his club

Manchester United are currently in the best health they have enjoyed since perhaps before Fergie left Manchester United.

We still think a right winger would add extra balance. But, overall, this team could surprise a few people at home and in Europe this season.

But, with all he forwards leaving the club over the last two years, you have to imagine that another one will be signed before too long.

Louis van Gaal would probably admit that, while this squad is now largely ‘his’, he will need a bit of luck with injuries to avoid a striker crisis later in the season.

And having had so much luck with Anthony Martial, perhaps he will look to boring in another French striker who has been regualrly linked to Manchester United.

Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette was linked to Manchester United in the summer and has expressed his annoyance at the way his latest contract extension was handled. He said:

“Yes, it is his [Aulas’] attitude,” he told L’Equipe.

“When he talks, a lot of fans listen. And when he retells things, seen from his point of view, it makes you think that the player is in the wrong. Yes his behaviour hurt and disappointed me.

“It hurt. I think that is a justified word to use. When you are a youngster at the club, in the town, and you have never really behaved in a nasty way to anyone, to be treated like that, yes, it hurts. I had had my best ever season, I really helped the team to reach the Champions League again.”

“It affects you, to be honest. You want to think about something else, but you cannot.

“Normally, you are happy to come back [to a new season], to see everyone again…but the coaching staff could see that I was not in a good place.

Lacazette has had a remarkable season

Lacazette has had a remarkable season

Lacazette was the leading scorer in Ligue 1 last season, in a division which included the likes of Zlatan and Cavani – no mean feat then.

He has the sort of pace, power and precision that would go down a treat in England and we think that Manchester United would be wise to move for the youngster.

Let’s see him in action.
