Benched: Positive news as boss says Manchester United target ‘solution’ will arrive soon as he is benched by club

Get it done

One way or another we would all like to see the future of Manchester United target Pedro resolved.

No one, except possibly the agents of players, want to see transfers go down to the wire and Pedro to Manchester United has dragged on too long already.

There was a sense that Pedro may say goodbye to the Barcelona fans when the club plays against Sevilla in The Super Cup on Tuesday night. But the player was benched for the tie even though Neymar was ruled out through injury. This will lead to much more tongue wagging about an imminent deal.

And Barcelona boss Louis Enrique thinks has given positive news to all concerned by suggesting that that we will see a solution to this one soon:

“I would like to keep all my players through the whole season. But we have talked enough about Pedro. The solution will arrive soon.”

We aren’t convinced that Pedro alone would be enough for Manchester United to win the title and get to the final of The Champions League.

But he would certainly give Manchester United a stronger eleven.

It would allow Louis van Gaal to play Pedro right and Memphis left of a front three, with Mata in behind in a 4-2-3-1.

Whether the Dutchman would do this remains to be seen – he seems instistent on playing Memphis in the hole right now – but this line up would be pacier and give United much more cutting edge up top.

We will hopefully see a resolution this deal before Manchester United’s next game against Villa.

But, meantime, let’s see some more magic from the Barcelona man.
