Manchester United have already done some great business this summer but they will of course want their new players fit and ready for the new season.

Possibly the best signing was Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munchen.

But he has been regularly injured over the last couple of seasons and we were concerned that Manchester United may have bought a lame duck.

And when news filtered through that he had picked up an injury on the pre-season tour, we thought he may even miss the start of the season, which is less than two weeks away.

But he has reassured the Manchester United fans by Tweeting that he is back in training with his new team mates in America ahead of the final match of the tour against PSG on Wednesday.

He said:

Back in team training with @manutd!

Basti looked absolutely imperious in his first game for Manchester United during pre-season.

And although he got panned by his new boss during his second outing for United, he still showed enough class in his passing ability, movement and commanding presence to suggest that he is going to be a real titan for Manchester United this season.

With the three main central midfielders – Schweinsteiger, Schnieiderlin and Carrick – all impressing us on the tour of America, Louis van Gaal will have his work cut out to select his eleven for the first game against Tottenham on August 8th.

He will surely only pick two of the three and so Basti needs to prove his fitness fast if he is to make the starting eleven for the first game of the season.

Manchester United fans: who would you pick?
