Sadly for many Manchester United fans, this one has an air of inevitability about it.
Manchester United Angel Di Maria has been unhappy at the club for some time and it appeared question of when not if he moved to Paris St.Germain this summer.
Highly respected French media outlet L’Equipe reports this evening that Manchester United and Paris St. Germain have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Argentine international.
The figure quoted is in the region of €65 million. They say:
Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the transfer of Angel Di Maria in the French capital. Parisian leaders pay out just over 65 million euros for the Argentine .
Di Maria has only been at Manchester United for one season.
He scored four goals in 32 appearances for the club but an attempted burglary at his house in Cheshire at the start of 2015 seems to have terminally unsettled him and his wife and the move looked ominous from that point on. His form also suffered badly as a consequence.
But to leave after such a short time at the club is hugely disappointing for United fans and will lead to questions about his strength of character.
Manchester United fought the French club for his signature last summer and having signed him it looked as if they had done the hard part.
But keeping him at Manchester United has proven nigh on impossible and Louis van Gaal has clearly decided that it’s better to offload him now, while his value is high, than let his poor form continue and his value wane.
The hope is that the club now has enough time to sign a marquee player in his place.
Pedro could well come in but Manchester United fans will want to see another signing with similar amounts of fairy dust to Di Maria.
We shall keep you updated on this story as it develops.

Selling Di Maria is not an option but if he feels he wants to go….we should be happy to inform him dat we. needed to part ways with him at his first month of arrival. Though we love him as a player. A great player who carry others along, but he’s very well replaceable. We just need quality defender like Ramos and Otamendi. Getting the both will be an ideal.
