As things stand we think that Manchester United will bring Morgan Schneiderlin, Nicolas Otamendi and Matteo Darmian into the club imminently. This will address the paucity that they had last season at the back and in midfield.
Add the talents of Memphis Depay and Manchester United will have a much stronger and deeper look about them next season.
They may also bring in a keeper if De Gea leaves. But we still think that there is at least one marquee signing to come into the club on top of those purchases – another match winner who can make the difference in the biggest games. Here are the contenders:
Gareth Bale
Real Madrid will probably want to hold on to him but, after an underwhelming season by his standards, perhaps there is a price that will tempt Madrid. He’d be a superstar at Old Trafford alongside Depay, Rooney and Di Maria.

One season wonder or future superstar? Well reports persistently suggest that Manchester United think he’s in the latter category and want to buy the ice-cool 21 year old. But they will find Spurs in no mood to bargain.

With Turan going to Barcelona perhaps Pogba’s future isn’t at the Nou Camp after all. Manchester United could certainly use him.
