Barcelona are inching towards the end of their transfer ban but this summer will still be very frustrating as potential targets go elsewhere. The best case scenario for Barcelona would surely be to sign Paul Pogba of Juventus in January.
And while Real Madrid may still come in for him, latest reports state that he isn’t that keen on going to England. British media outlet, The Daily Star says:
According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Pogba has no interest in anywhere other than Spain and has even dismissed a move to his native France.
There has been widespread speculation in England that every one of the elite Premier League clubs is interested in signing the brilliant box-to-box midfielder.
But with England reportedly ruled out as a destination Barcelona may find that there only competitors are Madrid. But do Los Blancos really need him? Well any team could use a player of this talent. But with Toni Kroos and Luka Modric seemingly nailed on starters in the midfield when fit, and James Rodriguez having an excellent season at number 10, it would surely require a change of formation to fit Pogba into the side.
At Barcelona, by contrast, Pogba would surely fit straight into the team as a replacement – if somewhat different in style – to Xavi.
Barcelona can’t so business until January but that won’t stop them speaking to clubs in an unofficial capacity. And they must be keen on bringing Pogba to the club.
Let’s see him in action. Barcelona fans: keen?
