Well we know that Luke Shaw is unlikely to play at the weekend after Louis spoke of protecting a great talent with years left in the tank, in his press conference on Friday.
Meanwhile, David de Gea will be given every opportunity to turn out for Manchester United in what could well be his last game for the club.
But he was still struggling in Manchester United’s last training session on Friday and Victor Valdes could get his full debut for the club in the final game of the season against a team desperate for the win if they are going to stay up.
Michael Carrick will play no further part in the season but Wayne Rooney should recover from that dead leg in time to face Steve Bruce’s men. With Marcos Rojo also fit, the big question is where LvG plays Rooney. He could go for RvP up top and Rooney in midfield. Or he can adapt his formation to a 4-2-3-1 with Herrera and Blind anchoring the midfield and Rooney in the hole at number 10 for Manchester United.
We favour this idea and think that Marcos Rojo will be used at left back. But we suspect that LvG will instead retain Fellaini and the 4-3-3. This could mean that RvP is on the bench.
So, it’s nearly all over folks. Manchester United have had another average season but they have achieved the main goal of Champions League football. After this one the fans can sit back an watch the top talent roll in over the summer.
So here’s our last XI of there season. Manchester United fans: let’s have your teams.
