Until this lad makes his mega move – and we feel that, with so many clubs after him, it’s pretty much inevitable this summer – then the name of Paul Pogba will pepper the papers periodically.
The latest club to pop their heads up is Manchester United and the report comes from The Express:
MANCHESTER UNITED have requested a meeting with Juventus over the potential transfer of Paul Pogba for £54million plus Robin van Persie, according to reports.
However, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are said to have told Juventus of their interest in the 22-year-old, whilst United have apparently asked to meet face-to-face with club representatives in Turin.
As well as the small matter of £50m Manchester United would have to eat huge slice of humble pie were they to sign this lad. Because, as we all know, he left the club less than three years ago for peanuts. It was scarcely believable then and it’s even harder total now.
Pogba, who had a marvellous World Cup for France, should already be running tings in Manchester United’s midfield and it must be seen as on of the biggest mistakes of Fergie’s tenure.
FINAL WORD: Pogba would of course be a brilliant player for Manchester United, providing forward thrust and goals. And, at 21, he’s got years in the tank. But would his signing mark another change of formation for Louis van Gaal?
