Liverpool’s transfer window has reflected that of many other Premier League clubs who seem to want to conduct the majority of their business in the summer. More likely, the players that they want aren’t currently available.
But the old chestnut about how to replace the departing Steven Gerrard has fallen on our heads again today with talk of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers keeping an eye on the captain of Bundesliga outfit Hannover. Talksport says:
But Brendan Rodgers is keeping a keen eye on Hannover skipper Lars Stindl since his return from injury as he looks to find the man to fill his boots.
The source also quotes the club’s sporting director as saying:
“He’s our most important and valuable player.”
The 26 year old, 5ft 11in midfielder has never managed a full international cap for Germany but he has played for the U20 and U21 teams. And at club level he has been Mr.Consistent since joining Hannover in 2010, playing 114 games in the league and chipping in with 11 goals.
There is no suggestion that a last ditch move will be made this month but Liverpool will possibly add a couple of midfielders in the summer to complement the blossoming talents of Emre Can and Jordan Henderson and this guy looks as if he could be decent bet. With Lucas Leiva perhaps leaving the club too, Liverpool will need back up for what will surely be their two, first choice engine room men next season.
Let’s take look at the lad in action. Liverpool fans: does he have the dynamism to make a difference?
