Liverpool

Great news for Liverpool

Schemer

One of the main areas of criticism during Brendan Rodgers’ time at Liverpool has been his dealings in the transfer market. He’s bought in over 20 players but only Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho have done the business so far.

And the players he acquired in the summer have taken a long time to settle in. But perhaps the best performer from the new batch of arrivals has been Adam Lallana.

His early Liverpool career was pock marked by injury but, in the last month or so, he’s started to show why Liverpool saw fit rot spend so much money on him. His poise, balance and ability to slalom through the opposition has wowed the crowd and given Liverpool fans belief that this two-footed schemer can be a star at the club.

And Rodgers has given Liverpool fans a boost by declaring that Lallana is close to a return to action after an early recovery from the thigh injury suffered against Leicester on New Year’s Day.

“He (Lallana) is ahead of schedule in terms of his rehabilitation and we are hoping he can join the group tomorrow to train,” the Reds boss said.

“If he is not available for the weekend he certainly will be by Chelsea.

In other potentially exciting news Rodgers has said that talks have been held to bring Liverpool’s brilliant on loan star Divock Origi to the club this January. We think that Liverpool should have been more insistent that he came in the summer. This lad is class:

‘He will certainly be here next summer,’ said Rodgers. ‘Whether he’ll be here in January, there have been discussions. The agreement is with Lille for him to stay there, so we’ll see how that works.

Let’s see some Origi magic. Liverpool fans: would he be a player who could make a difference to the first team for the remainder of this season?
