Liverpool’s season has never seemed more than a couple of games away from crisis. They started OK but tailed off and lost confidence after losing their key man in attack.
But they do seem to have steadied the ship a little of late and at least put on a nice attacking show against Swansea last week.
But, with Liverpool currently 7 points away from The Champions League places, you would imagine that serious investment would be required to give them a realistic chance of putting a serious challenge together for a top four berth come May. Latest reports suggest that three players have been the subject of Liverpool scrutiny, one of whom already belongs to the club.

Liverpool have already begun to prepare for life after Steven Gerrard, by making moves for THREE players over the weekend.
Divock Origi – On loan at Lille for the season after signing for Liverpool in the summer. We always felt it daft to let him go out on loan. Anyone could see at The World Cup that Origi is already good enough to make an impact at Liverpool. The report suggests that a £3m sweetener may be used in order to bring the brilliant forward to Anfield this winter.
Xherdan Shaqiri – Liverpool missed out on Alexis Sanchez in the summer and could use some extra pace out wide. The bonus with Shaqiri is that he can play wide or through the middle – he scored a hat trick for Switzerland in The World Cup. He’s young, powerful and clever and we really like him. He’d be an excellent addition for Brendan Rodgers.
Neto – The Brazilian keeper is looking to leave Fiorentina and his contract expires this summer. But, the Italians may cash in to avoid losing him for nothing in 6 months.
Let’s see Neto in action. Liverpool fans: can this guy do a better job than Mignolet or should the club pursue a more accomplished an high profile keeper?
