In what must be seen as great news for the club, new signings Radamel Falcao and Marcos Rojo could both be available for selection for the home match against Hull on Saturday (Kick Off 15:00 local time).
Both were expected to be out for longer and, while Louis van Gaal stopped short of confirming their fitness, he was bullish and positive enough to suggest that they both have a chance of making the squad. The inimitable Guardian quotes him as saying:
“We have to wait and see until the last training session of course,” Van Gaal said. “It’s always difficult to say but we have good news, yes. You have to read between the lines.
“I have to train the last session and I live day by day at this moment. So maybe Falcao can come back in the 18 [matchday squad], maybe Rojo can come back in the 18.”
The boss also confirmed that Luke Shaw will be out for ‘the next few weeks’ due to the injury sustained against Arsenal last weekend.
But the loss of Shaw will ostensibly be offset by the surprise return of Rojo after a dislocated shoulder sustained against City at the start of the month.
And, with RvP looking really sluggish so far this season, Manchester United could use the dynamism and wonderful predatory instincts of a fully fit Radamel Falcao. His injuries have perhaps clouded our minds about just what a special signing this was. With him fit Manchester United can make a massive leap in form and class.
Oh go on then. It is Friday. Here’s some more Radamel to keep you going. CLICK FOR FALCAO
