Good buys

One of the most important qualities for any top manager is the ability to keep a calm head under pressure. No manager has ever had it all their own way – it’s part and parcel of the game to face adversity.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has a lot of challenges to deal with right now and his next moves will be crucial. Will he keep his composure and take Liverpool back to the top?

The BBC saw fit to pass on a report in The Metro which links Liverpool with huge Janaury investment. And, IF there is substance to the suggestions then they would all be good acquisitions. The Metro reports:

Liverpool ready to sign Petr Cech, Jackson Martinez and Nathan Redmond in £47m triple transfer deal

Petr Cech: Yes, yes yes. Mignolet has become progressively cagey in his time at Liverpool and he looks as if he’s lost confidence. He certainly doesn’t fill us with it when he plays.

Cech is too good to sit on the bench but he must know now that Courtois is the number one choice of Jose Mourinho this season. At 32 Cech has so much to offer and Liverpool must move in January to sort out one area of weakness.

Jackson Martinez: Liverpool need far more goal threat and few strikers in the world have a goalscoring record as good as this guy – 72 goals in 107 games for Porto.

We are very surprised that Martinez hasn’t already moved to a bigger league. So surprised in fact that it leads us to worry that there might be an obvious flaw in his game that we haven’t yet noticed.

He’s surely worth a punt however.

Nathan Redmond: The 20 year old Norwich winger has had a great year and has scored 5 goals in 19 appearances for the England U21s. Always difficult to know how speedy English wingers will develop. Hopefully Redmond will mature into a player of vision rather than another head down speedster who lacks a final ball.

Let’s see Redmond in action> Liverpool fans: keen on this trio?
