Some players seem destined for certain clubs and we have always felt that way about Manchester United and Gareth Bale.
There were intense rumours that United were serious about signing the player despite his apparent enthusiasm to play in Spain.
And that interest has finally been confirmed by the player’s agent, Jonathan Barnett.
“He could have gone to United and other clubs, but he wanted to go to Madrid.”
The MEN reports:
When asked if United offered Bale a bigger wage than Real, Barnett replied: “Not much more, but more.
We applaud the Welshman for going to Spain but, at just 25, it’s hard to imagine that he won’t at some stage return to The Premier League.
Although his price won’t be as high as the £86m that Real paid for him Spurs may still be outpriced, with only perhaps City, Chelsea and Manchester United able to afford the lad.
The teams in Blue would have to make big changes in order to sign Bale and stay in line with FIFA FairPlay so, as things stand, United would perhaps be favourites for his signature. And what a player he would be at Old Trafford.
Even though a right footed flyer might offer more balance addition to the team, it would be difficult for Manchester United to turn their noses up at a player so efficient in the English game.
