The coach of PSV Eindhoven says that it’s simply a matter of time before their prodigious young talent, Memphis Depay, leaves for a bigger club.
Speaking to Dutch magazine Helden Phillip Cocu said:
“Of course Memphis will be sold, you can’t stop that but it’s okay.
“It’s great you can build up a player like him, who breaks through, succeeds at PSV then leaves the club when he’s ready for a bigger step. That’s great.
The 20 year old Dutchman has already played 96 times for PSV scoring 36 goals from a regularly wide position. He’s also scored twice in 11 games for his country since his debut in 2013. He was named on the shortlist for the best young Player of The World Cup in 2014 along with winner Paul Pogba and Real’s Raphael Varane.
We are very surprised that Louis van Gaal hasn’y already gone in for the player. Because he seems tailor made for Manchester United. He’s got electric pace, power, beautiful balance and an eye for the spectacular. Add a ferocious shot and you have a real dynamo for the attack.
We feel that the Manchester United manager will eventually buy a right footed speed demon to bring natural balance to a team with the pacey and direct Di Maria wide left. And, unless there is a glaring weakness in his game that we can’t see, Depay looks the perfect man for the job.
Let’s see the lad smashing the goals in left, right and centre for Holland and PSV. Manchester United fans: surely a winner?
