With so many changes at Manchester United in such a short time the players would be forgiven for wanting their futures sorted under Louis van Gaal.
One such star is Michael Carrick who’s contract expires next summer. Having spent 8 fruitful years at the club Carrick wants to continue at Manchester United. He said:
“My contract is up at the end of the season. I want to stay, of course. I’ve got nowhere else to go!”
Typically Carrick takes time to get back into the groove after injury but he has been superb for Manchester United since his return . At 33 he can perhaps only except a one or two year extension, but he still looks very much on top of his game and is a natural athlete who hasn’t suffered serious injury.
Carrick has also given his backing to the methods of the new boss and is happy to work under him.
he was great with me straight away, the boss.
“He has been great, and his staff. They have been really supportive from the first day and I have a lot to thank them for because he had a lot on his plate coming in.
We think that, be it in defence or midfield, Carrick can bring a sense of composure to the team for the next couple of years.
He isn’t available for the upcoming England matches due to a slight groin strain picked up in training. But this shouldn’t keep him out of the Arsenal game on 22nd November.
Manchester United fans: worth a new contract or past it?

You don’t have a clue mate. Mata, Carrick, Fletcher, and RVP are great players even if there squad players you don’t get rid of your experience as we have seen youth cant do it all alone. With giggs Scholes Ferdinand vidic and evra gone now we need established winners in the team.
