Liverpool: Another questionable signing?

With a punt?

After coming so close to winning the title last season, with some bewitching football, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers appears to be under serious pressure again at the club.

Since Luis Suarez has left Liverpool the boss hasn’t managed to find a balance or the winning formula to take the club forward again. They are labouring in the league and have just one win in four in The Champions League.

Another area of serious concern is his track record with transfers.

He’s brought in several star performers but many of his signings have failed so far to deliver.

So reports of interest in Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph may provide more concern for the Liverpool faithful.

Delph appears poised for the Villa exit on a free transfer at the end of the season, in a move which is likely to spark interest from Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton, plus Tottenham Hotspur.

You might argue that it’s a low risk gamble as Delph is coming to the end of his contract. But Liverpool need to sign winners if they want to kick on.

Delph has had a good 12 months and and forced his way into the England setup but we’re still to be convinced as to whether he’s got the end product to go with his brilliant athleticism.

Let’s have a look at Delph in action. Liverpool fans: Do you see this lad as a good investment for the future or will he struggle to make the grade?
