There can be only one. RvP or Di Maria may have an absolute blinder and steal the show on Sunday. Fellaini’s presence in the midfield – dare we say it – could be key.
But in a match like this, the blood and thunder of a local derby, you need a proper warrior in your team. A player who is utterly necessary even if not on top form, due to his physical presence, leadership qualities and raw power – that man is of course Wayne Rooney.
Although Manchester United have taken a decent 5 points from the 9 on offer in his absence, this team has missed their captain.
We seriously hope, for Manchester United’s sake, that they can keep all their top players fit now because we still haven’t seen the power of all their top stars, match ready and in tandem.
If Manchester United can get Falcao, RvP, Di Maria and Rooney on the park at the same time then we could see a genuine title challenge, despite the current gap to 1st place.
First things first. United need Rooney back ASAP to give the side more solidity. After that, the sky is the limit.
