While we were pleased that Luis Suarez got to start El Clasico at the weekend it was always going to be a bit early for the lad. To be thrown into such a game was tough for Suarez but he acquitted himself well and Barcelona were a better team for his inclusion.
But now that one is over we can really begin to enjoy the blossoming of what could be one of the greatest front lines of all time.
Suarez, Messi and Neymar or Bale, Benzema and Bale? Sure, Real Madrid are playing great football as a team right now, but we would take Barcelona’s front three any day.
The real beauty of this trio is that we think they all have the styles to complement each other brilliantly. Rather than having fixed positions, all three can play anywhere along the front line or at number 10. This is the main advantage that they have over the Madrid front three and we believe that, when they click, this is really going to be something special.
All three should start this weekend – Messi and Neymar are nursing knocks but should make the game – and Barcelona are generally in pretty good health with Douglas and Thomas Vermaelen expected back too. There is a question mark over Andres Iniesta, who could miss four games with a calf injury, so we have gone with Rakitic and Xavi in midfield.
