It’s been a tooth grindingly frustrating start for Liverpool this season – not least because of the bewitching way in which they took most sides apart in the second half of last season. That feel good factor has gone and the progress under Brendan Rodgers has slowed or stalled for now.
And in proof of how quickly stocks can rise and fall in the modern game the doubters of Rodgers are back out in force. It seems that his next few moves in the transfer market could be crucial.
One player who has been linked today is litle known midfielder. The Guardian reports:
That leaves the Reds free to concentrate on other targets, who include Heerenveen midfielder Daley Sinkgraven
What do we know? Well, he’s 19 and can play as an attacking midfielder through the centre or on the flank. He’s left footed. He’s played for the Holland international set up through every junior rank and has already turned out 23 times for Heerenveen in the league, scoring twice in that time. His highlights are at the bottom.
As for the possible departure, well Glen Jonhson has told the media that talks over a new contract have dried up with Liverpool.
There have been stropping rumours linking the England man with all manner of clubs over the last year and with Manquillo and Flanagan available, fitness permitting, to Rodgers this season he may well look to offload the 30 year old who look like his legs have gone a bit. A move to Italy beckons then!
Let’s see Sinkgraven in action.
