The defeat of APOEL on Wednesday night was by an uncomfortably narrow scoreline. But there was much to enjoy about a Barcelona side which is beginning to hatch a new generation of stars. Ramires, El Haddadi and Samper showed that this season will not be all about Luis Suarez and his dramatic late entrance at Barcelona.
With so many top players in the youth academy Barcelona are well placed to replenish their senior team from within, but many also slip through the net, despite their quality.
And one such player is Pedro. He’s stuck in there at Barcelona for much of his career and has a good record – 87 goals in 271 appearances from wide for the club and 15 goals in 44 caps for Spain. Great achievements but Pedro still seems to exist on the periphery for club and country.
He’s been linked to a move time and again and, at 27, perhaps he will finally leave Barca. The Guardian reports:

With Messi, Suarez and Neymar up top it’s understandable if the club decides to bring through some youngsters who won’t expect to play every week. Pedro could easily become surplus to requirements.
We really like him as a player. He’s quick off the mark and highly skilful and creative with good end product. He’s been linked to England and Arsenal as well as Juventus. He’d improve most squads but we think that Juventus and the Italian league might suit him better than the relative rough and tumble of England and Arsenal.
