There has been crazy money sloshing around the football transfer market this summer already. £75 million (94.6m Euros) has changed hands for the transfer of Luis Suarez – but, even at that price, he seems like good value.
At Real Madrid James Rodriguez has a huge amount to prove after his massive move to the club. and PSG have sent £50m (63m Euros) on a defender!
One deal that we can definitely imagining happening this summer, and are quite surprised that no one has yet made a bid, is for Marco Reus of Dortmund.
For our money he’s an even better player than Rodriguez and can become one of the world’s best. He’s an ice-cold finisher, has beautiful distribution from wide areas and is one of the most two-footed players that you will see, past or present.
Reports today suggest that Reus has declined a new deal at Dortmund and that Barcelona could be one of the interested parties.
The Mail says:
Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all hovering over Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus after he reportedly turned down a new deal.
Germany star Reus, 25, is believed to have a £27.6million buyout clause in his contract and Bild are reporting that he is determined to engineer a move to one of the world’s top sides by refusing to extend his stay at the Westfalenstadion beyond 2017.
Dortmund are, of course, a huge club themselves. But, at 25, Reus may feel that now is the time for his big move.
We think that he could prove to be the buy of the summer and although Barcelona seem to be concentrating on their defence right now they would surely be tempted if the opportunity arose to bring this lad into the squad – because Reus is a genuine A-list talent.
Let’s see some of his magic. Barcelona fans: do you have the money or the room for Reus?
