It’s been a whirlwind summer for Liverpool in the transfer market and their activity shows no sign of slowing yet.
With Adam Lallana, Emra Can, Lazar Markovic and Rickie Lambert in the bag Liverpool look set to make their next major signing as they attempt to fill the vacuum left by Luis.
The Metro reports early Saturday that Liverpool are on the cusp of signing French international Loic Remy from QPR. They say:
Loic Remy set to complete Liverpool transfer after accepting five-year contract
Liverpool are on the cusp of signing Loic Remy after the striker accepted a five-year contract to move to Anfield.
Remy, who saw a move to Arsenal collapse last week over wage demands, was given permission to talk to Liverpool on Friday.
We have always maintained that Remy would improve any squad in The Premier League. He brings pace, vitality and precise finishing to the party and, at 27, we should be about to see his best years. He’s what many would describe as a live wire forward whose energy and speed can only embellish the Liverpool squad.
Arsenal were regularly linked to the player but seemingly dragged their heels on a deal. Liverpool, by contrast, have been decisive in the market all summer and this potential deal is yet more evidence of that.
Remy began his senior career at Lyon but only started 12 league games. After a loan spell at Lens he joined Nice in 2008, where his career really exploded into life.
Successful spells at Marseille and QPR followed before he went on loan to Newcastle last season. He’s also played 24 times for France scoring 5 times.
We think that Remy will be an excellent player for Liverpool if he does sign for the club.
Let’s see some of his better moments. Liverpool fans: would this be a good addition?
