Arsenal – Fee agreed, deal close – report

Another deal

So it’s not the deal Arsenal fans are desperately hoping that the club will conclude.

While fans will have to wait a while to see if Sami Khedira is Arsenal bound the club has reportedly agreed a fee for another summer recruit.

The Guardian says that a deal of £3.2 million has been struck for the goalkeeper David Ospina to join Arsenal this summer.

the Gunners, fresh from tying up a deal for Alexis Sánchez – have agreed a £3.2m fee for Colombia and Nice goalkeeper, David Ospina, according to reports in France

The 25-year-old Columbian international stopper has been playing for Nice for the last six years and had a great spell there before further enhancing his reputation at The World Cup.

You would imagine that Ospina would not be prepared to play second fiddle for too long to Wojciech Szczęsny so the current Arsenal number one is going to have some serious competition on his hands over the next season.

If the No.1 shows the sort of consistency he did last season then Ospina may have to warm the bench for the big games but it will be interesting to see how Szczęsny deals with the pressure of having such a good keeper vying for his starting position.

Let’s have a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans: is this the next number one at the club or can he only expect to play in the less important fixtures?

It would be a great signing indeed. I’m glad Mr Wenger is doing something about the squad. One question though to Jackson martinez? We would be complete with him, khedira and ospina.
