Chelsea have had their fair share of world beaters over the last 15 years, in particular, and goalkeeper Petr Cech would definately be counted axone of them.
He’s been one of those dream players who gives a 7/8 out of 10 performance week in week out and comes at an age which allows him to stay for a decade.
But sometimes players are just too good to keep down. Noone doubts the quality of Cech but Chelsea’s on loan keeper Thibaout Courtois has given everyone a headache by playing out of his skin this season. Such has been his form that he is now impossible to ignore.
At just 22 he’s way ahead of schedule and looks like a worldie already. The suggestion is that he will start next season at Chelsea. But Petr Cech is not going to want to sit on the bench.
So if the Belgian does return we could see Cech moving clubs. In that eventuality Chelsea will need a number 2 of real quality.
And we think that Karl Dorlow of Nottingham Forest could well be the answer. At 23 he’s developing into a really top keeper himself and has a big future.
Fans will be interested to know that Bet Victor have Chelsea as odds on favourites at 8/11 to sign the young stopper this summer, should he leave the club.
Let’s take a look at him in action. Chelsea fans: is it inevitable that Cech will leave if Courtois comes in?
