Great Promise

Swansea City are reportedly looking to sign up the young Scottish defender Stephen Kingsley.

The Welsh side are well known for playing talented youngsters and Garry Monk has reportedly been impressed by Kingsley, according to Wales Online.

Swansea City boss Garry Monk is looking to finalise a move for Stephen Kingslley having already snapped up Scottish youngsters Adam King and given Jay Fulton his debut

The same source reports that Monk could land the left back for as little as £800,000.

Although only 19, and unlikely to be a regular in the side, Kingsley may be willing to leave Falkirk in the knowledge that Swansea are perhaps willing to give younger players a chance to shine in the senior team.

Moving to an established Premier League side could also help his chances of making it into the senior Scotland side.

The left back has experience, despite his young age. He came through the Falkirk youth system before making his first senior appearance in 2011 aged just 16.

He has since gone on to make 108 league appearances for the Scottish side. He also has some international experience having played for both the Scotland U18 and U19 squads.

Swansea may well be looking to add a further defender to their squad due to continuing speculation over the future of club captain Ashley Williams. The experienced centre back only has one year remaining on his current deal and talks over a new contract have apparently stalled.

The 29 year old player has been a vital part of Swansea success in recent years. He has been at the club for 6 years and has made over 250 appearances in all competitions. The summer transfer window has seen a number of clubs showing interest in signing the defender, including a £4 million bid from Sunderland.

The notion that Monk is reportedly trying to sign further defenders may indicate that he is looking to prepare the club for life without their captain next season.
