Brendan Rodgers has done a great job in bringing in talented youngsters with great hunger to improve. While a few of his signings have gone by the wayside (noone gets it right every time) players such as Sturridge and Coutinho have afforded Liverpool a serious tilt at the title this season – probably ahead of schedule.
With no reason whatsoever to change his policy now the Liverpool boss has today been linked with two other super young players.
The first is an 18 year old Belgian. Such has been the progress of the teenager that he has already become a full international for a stellar Belgium side, making his debut last year.
He’s been linked to many clubs, including Liverpool’s close rivals Arsenal. It’s easy to see why he’s getting such rave reviews as he’s playing with super natural talent and the freedom of youth.
Liverpool are plotting a move for PSV Eindhoven attacker Zakaria Bakkali.
Liverpool are among a list of suitors and Brendan Rodgers believes he can land him in the summer – although PSV will demand big money for the prodigious talent.
The same source reckons that Liverpool are also keen on Roma’s creative midfielder Adem Ljajic. The 22 year old, who so nearly joined Manchester United in 2009, only joined Roma from Fiorentina last season. But such has been his rise – 5 goals in 22 games for the lad at Roma – that he’s generating more transfer interest.
The Serbian international is a dead ball expert and plays with real finesse already. He’s a silky marauding midfielder who relies more on guile than graft. Ljajic was seen as an indirect replacement for Erik Lamela when Tottenham signed the youngster last summer. Ljajic was signed just before the end of the window for a fee believed to be in the region of 11m Euro
Let’s take a look at them both in action. Liverpool fans – are we looking at another Coutinho or an additional Aspas?
