Liverpool ‘interested in signing’ South American flyer

It’s crazy to think that a player of this quality isn’t getting into any side. But when that team is Barcelona it’s easier to swallow.

If it wasn’t for Jordi Alba having such a superb run of form since joining Barcelona then Brazilian star Adriano would be a nailed – on starter.

The 29 year old has served every club he has played for with distinction – including Barcelona, for whom he’s played 133 times since joint in 2010. In that time he’s also offered goal threat down the flank with 14 goals to his name. He’s represented his country on 17 occasions since his debut for Brazil a decade ago.

Liverpool could do with strengthening that area of the park and The Metro this afternoon suggests that they might be interested in taking him at the end of the season. They say:

Liverpool are interested in signing Barcelona full-back Adriano Correia at the end of the season to solve their left-back problems.

The Reds have struggled to find a consist option on the left side of their defence, with Jose Enrique and loan signing Aly Cissokho failing to hold down a regular role this term.

The report concludes that Liverpool are prepared to pay in the region of £6m for a player of huge experience but still on top of his game. Brendan Rodgers seems to enjoy investing in youth but he will be fully aware that this sort of experience and winning mentality could only benefit the changing room.

Let’s take a look at him in action. Liverpool fans – would you like see the experience of Adriano added to the squad?
