Happy days for Liverpool eh? I know that some of you Liverpool fans are still very cagey about the prospect of success after a decades in the domestic abyss.
But, from a neutral perspective, we can tell you with great confidence that this Liverpool incarnation is easily the best since Rafa’s 2009 vintage – and potentially far better.
Continued development will hinge on whether Luis Suarez stays (as he recently stated he would) or whether Real Madrid start showing him a bit of leg in the summer. Because, scoring goals or not, he would be an exceedingly difficult player to replace.
But Liverpool will continue to build on their strong foundations and reports suggest that they are keen on a sensational young winger – Lazar Markovic.
Liverpool have joined clubs watching Benfica’s attacking midfielder Lazar Markovic.
Chief scout Barry Hunter was in attendance at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin, last Wednesday to see the 20-year-old play 75 minutes for Serbia in their 2-1 win over Republic of Ireland.
As is the case with so many young forwards these days, this twenty year old can play as a winger or a striker. He’s lightning quick and also has a trick or two up his sleeve. He’s already played 10 times for Serbia scoring 2 goals in the process. With Chelsea also among his rumoured suitors Liverpool need to work fast if they want the flyer.
Let’s see him in action. Liverpool fans – keen?
