Manchester United: This is the man to blame

Get rid!

David Moyes inherited a team of Champions and has spent £65m since he arrived at the club. You might expect, with some justification, things to be very different from the way that they are right now.

There is a dreamy, optimistic view about the future of Manchester United under Moyes, and then the reality.

In the optimistic outlook, pedalled by the dwindling number of fans loyal to this manager, David Moyes just needs time turn things around at the club. He is magically going to get this team playing brilliantly again. The problem, and the reality, is that he clearly isn’t capable of managing Manchester United.

He hasn’t shown us any signs, through this dark period, that he is doing anything good for the club at all. We don’t subscribe to the idea of Manchester United having a poor squad. Few teams in the world have two players as good as Rooney and RvP.

The only reason that David Moyes needs to turn things around is because he has been running Manchester United into the ground since he took over. The opening day 4-1 victory at Swansea showed us that the ship was sailing in a pretty healthy direction. It didn’t need fixing.

But since then he has made this team more clunky and incoherent than any Manchester United side that we have ever seen.

Manchester United could do with a couple of new players in the summer. And you may opine that it’s the players themselves who need to take the blame for these bad results.

But, at the end of the day, it’s Moyes who is picking the wrong teams. Moyes who is using the wrong tactics and formations. Moyes who is leaving Manchester United’s best performer of the season at home for a season defining game. None of these decisions make any sense. When you have no momentum you play your best eleven – simple as.

The suggestion, made by the manager that Manchester United were in good form coming into the game shows just how far expectations have fallen since Moyes took the reigns. A home draw against Fulham, an away draw vs Arsneal and a victory against struggling Crystal Palace. That’s not good form in our book.

We aren’t interested in any other version of events. Moyes took over Manchester United as Champions, spent £65m on new talent and the season is nearly over by February. The buck has to stop with the manager.

Why is that no club insiders can see what we see??? Talk about having blinkers on, or is it just that they don’t want to eat humble pie??? One thing that I have learnt during my thirty years in my own business is that there is no room for sentiment. If something isn’t working you have to make the adjustments or else it will just drag you down to a position that cannot be retrieved. I know that the scale of the business is vastly different from mine but the same principles apply. Wilf McGuiness had to go, Frank O’Farrell had to go, Dave sexton had to go, the Doc had to go, albeit for other reasons (randy bugger) and Big Ron had to go. We are not immune. The time has come to again make a big decision and that time is now!!!!!

Moyes was à bad choice from the start. He never had the credentials to manage a club like Utd and one of the arguments put forward was that he would bring stability ( I suppose as opposed to Mourinho ! ) There is an argument accepted by everybody that time would in any case be required to replace Fergie. I think it’s a load of bu—–t and the proof is there for all to see ! Bayern Real Chelsea & even Everton have all changed managers this season and they have all hit the road running ! Achieving what Fergie has done is a different matter of course. Moyes training & tactics are outdated and he has already destroyed the team’s morale & self belief. He has to go for all the reasons you have mentioned. The sooner the better !

Moyes has to go, as simple as that. He is not the right manager to manager Man.Utd.
When will the board sack him !!!
