Manchester United has the feel good factor again. The league table doesn’t lie but, over the last week or so, things have brightened up considerably around Old Trafford as Manchester United have made their best signing in at least five years and more space is being freed up by player departures.
Manchester United fans will hope that this positivity will begin to manifest itself in terms of results because how the club needs a good run right now.
One of the key elements in Manchester United’s success over the last decade has been the superb Wayne Rooney. The last couple of years have been a bit bumpy for the Englishman and last summer it looked as if he would leave the club. The more ruthless might suggest that the only good thing David Moyes has done for Manchester United so far is to keep Wazza. But, we have always believed that Wazza wanted to stay at Manchester United – as long as the high standards were maintained and the club was competitive in the transfer market.
Well, in another great piece of news for United, the Daily Mail is today reporting that Wayne Rooney is just about to sign a new contract with the club. As suggested by soccersweep at the weekend a deal does now seem to be on the table. A deal which, apparently, all parties are happy with.
Rooney poised to sign new £300,000 a week deal which will make him Premier League’s top earner ‘in next few days’
Wayne Rooney is increasingly confident of signing a new record-breaking contract at Manchester United and could even put pen to paper by the end of the week.
The United star has been in talks with officials at the club and is beginning to think ever more optimistically about staying at the club he signed ten years ago.
If Manchester United can get this deal done it will send a new feeling of stability around the whole club. Rooney spending the rest of his career at Manchester United is how it was always supposed to be. With Rooney in the squad and more signings on the way, the future is looking extremely bright once more.
