Ok it doesn’t look so good right now. Cardiff fans lost the main man Malky MacKay in very dubious circumstances and, under their fledgling new boss Cardiff sit, uncomfortably, in the bottom three of The Premier League. But, shocking sacking aside, we think that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has the right ideas about management. He’s a bright spark who has some brilliant connections in the game.
And he’s attempting to utilise those tie straight away, in an effort to improve the quality of the Cardiff squad. As you all know by now reports over the last couple of days have suggested that the new manager is looking to make a double signing in the next 15 days – players with Manchester United connections and players of genuine quality.
If he can bring in Ravel Morrison and Wilfried Zaha Cardiff will be an altogether different proposition.
Wilfried Zaha – those who watch Manchester United on a regular basis can’t believe that this lad hasn’t had more games for the club this season. Manchester United are struggling, particularly in the wider areas, yet they aren’t giving any game-time to their new £15 million man. Zaha has frightening pace and puts opposing teams on the back foot with his unpredictability, guile and dribbling skills. If Cardiff could take him on loan for the rest of the season then it’s a no-brainer.
Ravel Morrison – gained a reputation at Manchester United as something of an enfant terrible . but cities moved to West Ham matured into a really special footballer. If you can stay on the right path you will surely be an England regular of the future. The lad has amazing balance and real football vision. On top of that he knows where the goal is. This is what Rio Ferdinand said about the lad:
‘I would pay to watch him train, let alone play in a match,’ said the 35-year-old, who first made his name at Upton Park.
‘Ever since the first day I saw him, my old boss (Sir Alex Ferguson) said ‘have a look at this boy’. He was taking the mick out of everyone on the pitch when he was about 14.
‘The manager thought he was the best player he had seen at that age.
‘He trained with the first team at about 16 and Darren Fletcher said to me ‘he runs with the ball, he just runs with it and he’s almost looking at me while he’s running with the ball, and waiting for me to make a move and then he reacts’.
‘The top players can do that, they react to a defender’s movements.’
If Cardiff get these two in we can’t see them going down this season. But, whatever happens come May, it would be a genuinely exciting ride with these guys on board.
