Swansea play football as it should be played under the divine guidance of Micheal Laudrup. Sure, this season may have been a little more bumpy so far, despite the club making serious inroads in the transfer market in the summer.
But recently promoted clubs can find it difficult to duplicate success year after year as the opposition becomes increasingly aware of how to combat the style of their new counterparts.
Still, Swansea sit in a fairly comfortable position right now and we have no doubts that they will end the season in mid table at least.
But Swansea will want to keep investing in order to consolidate their Premier League status and recent news suggests that they may be one of the first British clubs to make a major signing during the window.
The BBC this morning reported that Tom Ince could be on his way to Swansea in the immediate future. The BEEB says:
Swansea City are in talks to sign Blackpool winger Tom Ince during the January transfer window.
Swansea are pursuing Ince as they await news on injured Spanish winger Pablo Hernandez, who suffered a hamstring problem in their 3-2 loss to Manchester City on New Year’s Day.
Accordingly SkyBet have Swansea as clear favourites to sing the player before February. At odds of 5/6 they are clearly quite confident that a deal will be done imminently.
Let’s see the lad in action. Swansea fans – are you made up with this potentially very exciting signing?
